Dr. David Stilley earns FAA approval to conduct pilot physicals
Dr. David Stilley, chief medical officer of DoctorsNow, has earned FAA approval as an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME). AMEs are private physicians who have been trained and authorized by the FAA to perform pilot medical examinations and to issue medical certificates.
Newly appointed AMEs are authorized to perform commercial (Class II) and private (Class III) pilot physicals only. In order to obtain authorization to perform air transport pilot (Class I) physicals, AMEs must first perform Class II and III physicals for at least three years.
